Helena Tynell
Helena Tynell (1918–2016) was a Finnish designer renowned for her innovative and organic glass creations. Born in Finland, Tynell became a prominent figure in mid-century glass design before moving to Germany in 1976. During her time there, she collaborated with Glashütte Limburg, where she designed iconic lamps that often featured bubble and natural structures. These designs showcased her ability to blend functionality with artistic elegance, resulting in pieces that remain timeless and highly sought after.
Tynell’s work reflected a deep understanding of glass as a medium, emphasizing both its form and the interplay of light. Her creations for Glashütte Limburg were celebrated for their unique style, which combined natural inspiration with modern aesthetics. After a successful career, she returned to Finland in 1986, leaving behind a legacy of designs that continue to captivate collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.
