Green Pearl Shade lamp designed by Lars Schiøler for Hoyrup Light in the 1960s.

This lamp consists of a pleated coloured shade, round in shape, and white plastic edges at the top and bottom.

When switched on, it creates a soft diffused light and the open top and bottom give way to upward and downward directed light.

The Pearl Shade lamps are often seen as a design by Holm Sørensen, but it was actually designed by Lars Schioler in the 1960s. They were introduced in the first catalogue of Hoyrup Light in the 1960s – Schioler and Hoyrup Light even received a patent for the pleated Pearlshade in 1961. It was produced in a number of sizes and colours.
